Indonesia Expands Visa-On-Arrival Eligibility to 92 Countries

Indonesia has expanded its eligibility criteria for visas-on-arrival (VoA) by adding three more countries to the list, now totaling 92.

The new additions include Panama, Guatemala, and Macau.

Achmad Nur Saleh, Sub-coordinator for Public Relations for the Director General of Immigration stated that "Kenya and Rwanda were added in February" as well. VoAs are suitable for tourism visits, governmental visits, trips for business meetings, purchasing trips, and transit stops.

A Visa-on-Arrival is valid for 30 days and can be extended for another 30 days but cannot be converted into another visa class.

Passports must have a minimum of six months remaining validity at the time of visa issuance.

There is also an Electronic Visa-on-Arrival (e-VOA) that can be obtained online and must be used within 90 days of its issuance.

STOP PRESS: Indonesia's Minister for Tourism and Creative Economies, Sandiaga Uno, recently announced a proposal to reintroduce visa-free travel to Bali for frequent international visitors from twenty countries, in addition to ASEAN nations. This proposal, not yet confirmed in law, aims to scrap the fee for Visa on Arrival for these visitors.

The countries potentially receiving fee-free visas include: Australia, China, India, South Korea, the United States, England, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Japan, Russia, Taiwan, New Zealand, Italy, Spain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and several other countries related to investment contributions and economic impact on Indonesia.
