Bali travel vaccine requirements and Bali COVID restrictions 2023 lifted

Indonesia has lifted all Covid-19 travel restrictions, including the mandatory vaccination requirement for both international and domestic travelers.

This move comes as a result of the government's review of ongoing management of Covid-19 in the country and adjustment of control mechanisms to health protocols during the endemic transition period.

According to The Bali Sun, "unvaccinated travelers are now permitted to enter Indonesia and travel domestically within Indonesia."

However, the government advises all travelers, whether domestic or international, to continue personal protection measures against COVID-19, such as carrying out vaccinations until the second booster or fourth dose and using hand sanitizer regularly.

This announcement has been confirmed by the official announcement on the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.

The removal of mandatory COVID vaccination for international travelers is considered a significant step towards reviving tourism in Bali, which is fast approaching its peak holiday season.

With tens of thousands of international visitors expected on the island soon, this news will come as a relief to many who have been waiting for this requirement to be scrapped before booking their visit.

It is recommended for travelers planning on traveling to Indonesia to be aware of other health risks, particularly in rural areas. These risks include those associated with mosquito bites, such as Japanese encephalitis. Travelers are advised to consult with a doctor in their home country on what vaccines might be required for a visit to Bali, Indonesia.
